Sound is a different problem
Podcast and broadcast rooms fail for the same reason
People treat sound as a decoration problem. It isn't. A room-within-a-room built for isolation and one built for good visuals solve two completely different jobs, with two different budgets. Absorbers at the first reflection points, bass trapping in the corners, and a target reverberation time around 0.3 to 0.4 seconds for speech is where treatment starts — isolation is a separate, structural cost.
The curve itself
White cyc and chromakey green solve opposite problems
A white cyclorama is built to disappear — even, shadowless light across a seamless curve so the background reads as nothing at all. A chromakey green cyc is built to be replaced — flat, consistent saturation the keyer can cut cleanly, with spill control so green doesn't creep onto the subject. They share the same curve construction but almost nothing else: different paint, different lighting ratios, different floor treatment, and different rules for what you can put in the room.
Common problem
Think your room's too small? Usually, it's not.
The most common brief we get is a room that looks too small on paper. Depth beats floor area — what limits a small studio is the distance between the subject and the background, not the room's total size.
Ceiling height decides the lighting rig you can run. Wall treatment decides how flat a small room can actually look. Get those three right, and small rooms work harder than people expect.

WHY MEROS
Every studio we build has to answer one question first: what does this room need to make, and how often?
We're based in Sydney and build on-site across Australia, and we take on design and consulting work remotely for clients overseas. Everything else — the gear, the finish, the budget — follows from that answer. Meros is Greek for “part”: we build the part you produce in, and nothing you don't need.
